The Jeep Pickup Could be Called the Gladiator

It’s official, Jeep will unveil an all-new pickup truck at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month. While FCA still hasn’t confirmed its name, the Internet has already baptised it with a wide variety of nomenclatures. The name Gladiator seems to be the most recent one.

A Realistic Rumour

According to website JeepScramblerForum, which seems to be dedicated to the upcoming Jeep pickup, the term “Gladiator” has already appeared on FCA’s media website.

We can indeed see a screenshot of an entire section on their website dubbed “2020 Jeep Gladiator.” We went to check it out for ourselves, but the section seems to have been removed. Could this be a mistake from FCA for adding the media section too early?

Of course, FCA chose not to comment about this, but the name “Gladiator” would make a lot of sense since it would pay homage to the very first Jeep pickup, the Jeep Gladiator, from 1963. One thing’s for certain, a Jeep pickup is coming! And with the resurgence in popularity of compact trucks such as the Honda Ridgeline, the Toyota Tacoma, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, as well as the return of the Ford Ranger in 2019, Jeep sees potential with its Gladiator.

We’ll be in L.A. to tell you more as we know it.
