First Official Look at the 2021 Genesis GV80
After some pictures taken from a commercial photoshoot leaked online a month ago, Genesis is now giving us our first official look at the much anticipated GV80 sport utility vehicle.
We won’t have to wait long for the big reveal since sales in South Korea are scheduled to begin later in January.

Similar to the G70, G80 and G90, the GV80 will be based on a rear-wheel-drive platform unique to the Genesis brand. In Canada, all-wheel drive will be standard across the line. By the way, the “V” stands for versatility.
The design is inspired by the GV80 Concept introduced at the 2017 New York Auto Show. The production model sports a massive pentagonal grille with a diamond pattern reminiscent of the refreshed G90, while pushing the brand’s “Athletic Elegance” design language to another level.
Highlights include a sharply sculpted hood and a “Quad Lamp” signature up front. The dual lines of the latter are carried over to the front fenders and rear lights, while the “G-Matrix” pattern that appears in the design of the wheels is said to be “inspired by beautiful orchids seen when diamonds are illuminated by light.”
The GV80’s profile, with that sloping roofline, suggests a sporty SUV.
Inside, the diamond motif is replicated on the seats, but the most eye-catching feature is arguably the ultra-wide digital display at the top of the leather-clad dashboard. Incidentally, Genesis has one of the best infotainment systems in the industry according to a recent J.D. Power study.
Front-seat occupants will enjoy a nicely defined space next to the tall and cascading centre console, which incorporates a new HVAC touchscreen along with buttons and a rotary knob as a gear selector.
Keep following us to get all the details about the upcoming Genesis GV80 including powertrains and equipment.
