Petersen Museum is Offering a Guided Tour of 250 Rare Cars
A few weeks ago, we gave you some suggestions of car museums you can explore virtually thanks to the magic of Google Maps.
One of them, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, is sparing no efforts to allow car enthusiasts of all ages to educate and entertain themselves while stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In particular, videos are being uploaded almost daily on its YouTube channel. The most fascinating in our opinion offers a full, 60-minute tour of the museum’s vault where 250 of the rarest and most expensive automobiles in the world are housed:
You will mostly see classic cars from the 1920s and 1930s, though some are as old as a single-cylinder 1903 Cadillac, and a few that belonged to celebrities including Fred Astaire’s Rolls-Royce. Naturally, Ford is well represented with several Model T and Model A cars.
Part of the tour focuses on vintage motorcycles and there are also more modern rides, such as the first Honda imported to the U.S., a Popemobile that was never used and a Mercedes 600 Landaulet once driven by Saddam Hussein. Some cars were features in movies or TV shows (Ferrari 308 GTS from Magnum P.I., just to name one), while others come from obscure manufacturers you may never have heard of (Kaiser Darrin).
That’s a fantastic way to spend an hour and take your mind off the cold, harsh reality of COVID-19.
