The Porsche Taycan Gets Some Updates for 2021
On the market since the 2020 model year, the Porsche Taycan gets a few improvements for next year.
The electric Porsche sedan will now be available with an optional head-up display, which provides the driver with data ranging from navigation to phone calls and powertrain status information, to name a few.

Porsche also gave the 2021 Taycan its Functions on Demand service. The press release reads "Taycan drivers can purchase various convenience and assist functions as required. This also works after having taken delivery of the Taycan." This is all done remotely thanks to over the air updates without having to go to a dealership. Systems like the active lane departure assistance and the Porsche InnoDrive system are amongst the elements that can be selected and installed.
With charging being a major issue for many electric vehicle owners, it's interesting to note that the new Plug & Charge feature makes the process easier. Since the authentication data is saved within the car itself, all you have to do is plug in the charging cable. That’s it! To protect the battery, Porsche added the possibility to limit the charging capacity to 200 kW.
The Stuttgart-based automaker is also upgrading the color palette for 2021 by adding seven new paintwork colours: Mahogany Metallic, Frozenberry Metallic, Cherry Metallic, Coffee Beige Metallic, Chalk, Neptune Blue and Ice Grey Metallic.
The Taycan 4S will be offered at a starting price of $120,500. The Turbo S version prices at $215,000. The first example of the 2021 model-year Taycan will arrive early next year.
Finally, it should be mentioned that Porsche Taycan owners benefit from regular maintenance— free of charge—for two years or 30,000 kilometers.
