Lower-priced Electric GMC Pickup to Follow Hummer EV
Now committed to electrifying its entire portfolio by 2035, General Motors is calling on each and every one of its brands to meet the needs of customers in all segments and price points.
After resurrecting the Hummer in the form of a GMC-branded electric pickup, the automaker plans to launch a cheaper, less off-road oriented model that will be aimed more at conventional GMC Sierra customers.

We don’t know exactly when this vehicle will hit the market, but it should be technically similar to the future Chevrolet Silverado EV, with an Ultium platform and battery allowing up to 640 kilometres of range approximately.
Production will presumably take place at GM’s EV-only “Factory Zero” assembly plant in Detroit alongside the Hummer EV, which is available from $79,995-$112,595 in the U.S. (Canadian pricing has yet to be announced).
While all signs point to Chevrolet sticking with the Silverado name, GMC global vice president Duncan Aldred won’t say for now if the new GMC pickup will carry a Sierra badge or adopt a completely new moniker. Ford, meanwhile, chose to go with F-150 Lightning.
In addition to that one, competition will come from the likes of the Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T and of course the electric Ram 1500 that was recently announced by Stellantis for 2024.
Among the 30 EV models to be launched by GM globally by the end of 2025, a dozen have had their development schedules moved up, including four GMC products. The aforementioned pickup is certainly one of them.
