One More Ford GT Heritage Edition Before the Curtain Drops
The current-generation Ford GT, introduced in 2017, will retire after 2022 but not before gifting select customers with a seventh and likely final Heritage Edition—the third that commemorates the original GT40 from 1966.
More specifically, the car is a tribute to British-based Alan Mann Racing’s two lightweight experimental prototypes (AM GT-1). Neither won a major race, but the use of lightweight materials was similar to what helped Ford beat Ferrari at Le Mans in 1966.

In addition to wearing unique Alan Mann red exterior paint with gold graphics, this latest Heritage Edition sports a dual over-the-roof racing stripe, Frozen White signature accent stripes and roundels with No. 16 on the doors, hood and underside of the rear wing.
Exposed gloss carbon fibre is prominent including on the 20-inch wheels, front splitter, side sills, mirrors, engine louvers and rear diffuser. This is complemented by black-painted brake calipers with red Brembo graphics.
Carbon fibre can also be found in the cabin, appearing on the door sills, console and registers. More eye-catching are the No. 16s on the door panels, plus gold and red accent stitching on the Alcantara-wrapped sports seats. The same material adorns the steering wheel, pillars and headliner. Extra gold accents are spread throughout, while the dual-clutch paddle shifters are finished in exterior-matching Alan Mann red.
Ford will begin deliveries of the first Alan Mann Heritage Edition cars to approved GT customers by the end of March.
