2024 Hyundai Elantra to Show Prettier Face

The Hyundai Elantra is one of the most popular cars in Canada, and with the current generation having been launched as a 2021 model, it appears a mid-cycle update is in order for 2024.

What can we expect? Well, the company today previewed the refreshed design of the Korean-spec Avante, which is how the Elantra is called over there.

The headlight clusters are flatter and house rectangular projectors not unlike those on the IONIQ 5 electric crossover. The front grille and lower bumper are revised, as well, giving the car a sharper-looking, less offensive mug.

New wheel designs highlight the sides, while the biggest change in the rear is the bumper, which sports a more aggressive appearance complete with a fake diffuser.

The only shot of the interior reveals no major transformation, which should come as no surprise. An updated selection of materials and colours plus various infotainment and safety upgrades are likely to be included.

The changes will obviously apply to the sportier Elantra N Line and high-performance Elantra N, too, though the latter will surface at a later date. Engine options should remain the same, from the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre mill producing 147 horsepower all the way to the turbocharged variant generating 276 horsepower.

There’s a chance the 2024 Hyundai Elantra makes its North American debut in April at the New York Auto Show (the updated 2023 Palisade was introduced there last year, remember). Whenever it does, The Car Guide will bring you all the important details and lots of pictures. Sales are expected to begin later this year.
