All-New Lamborghini Revuelto Unleashed With 1,001 Hybrid Ponies
Lamborghini’s highly anticipated replacement for the Aventador has just been unveiled. Similar to its predecessor, as well as the iconic Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murcielago that came before, the all-new Revuelto features a V12 engine. However, it’s the first time we see it in a plug-in hybrid system.
No, the exotic automaker from Sant’Agata Bolognese is not ready yet to abandon its naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12. Largely revised and improved for this application, the engine teams up with a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and as many as three electric motors.

The Revuelto generates up to 1,001 horsepower (such beautiful symmetry) and 887 lb-ft. of torque, 535 of which come from the raucous V12, which can rev up to 9,500 rpm. While slightly more potent than the 986-horsepower Ferrari SF90, 0-100 km/h acceleration is achieved in the same 2.5 seconds. Top speed is said to exceed 350 km/h.
Electric AWD
Naturally, the car needed a new chassis. Lamborghini engineers developed a structure that is more rigid and 10-percent lighter than that of the Aventador. The transmission is positioned behind the mid-mounted V12 and integrates one of the three motors. The other two are located on the front axle, driving the wheels individually.
As for the battery, you’ll find it where the transmission tunnel used to be. That’s smart. Its capacity is a super-modest 3.8 kWh, however. The 7kW on-board charger means the battery can be fully charged in 30 minutes.
You like drive modes? The Revuelto offers a whopping 13 of them. Seriously. Of course, there’s one for pure electric driving, but just for short distances (range has yet to be specified). The sportiest modes, such as Corsa and Performance, turn the car into an extremely wild and dynamic beast.
Evolutionary Design
When it comes to the design, no one will be surprised by the return of vertically opening scissor doors. The team at Lamborghini took inspiration from the Countach, Diablo and Murcielago for the proportions and some of the design cues while adding a number of twists. Purists will appreciate the fact that the V12 is fully exposed behind the cockpit.
The new Y-shaped daytime running lights and taillights create a unique signature, just like the hexagonal tailpipes. The adaptive and fully functional rear wing optimizes aerodynamics and downforce based on speed and the selected drive mode. Meanwhile, Bridgestone specifically developed Potenza Sport tires for the Revuelto, which rides on 20- or 21-inch front wheels and 21- or 22-inch rear wheels.
By the way, there will be a ton of personalization options once again, including 400 exterior colours. Good luck finding two identical Revueltos on the road.
Inside, the layout and design are inspired by a racing cockpit. Three digital displays can be found on the dashboard including a 12.3-inch instrument cluster in front of the new steering wheel, an 8.4-inch touchscreen on the centre stack and a wide 9.1-inch touchscreen on the passenger’s side. The infotainment system that powers them has been significantly improved with smartphone-like use and functionality in mind.
The 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto will soon enter production, although pricing and market availability remain unknown at this point. Clearly, it will turn out to be much more expensive than the Aventador, whose final iteration in Canada retailed from about $637,000.
