2024 Honda Passport TrailSport Beefs Up, Black Edition Arrives
The Honda Passport is far from being one of the most popular midsize SUVs in Canada. In fact, sales are down 2 percent so far this year. For 2024, the company is hoping to make it more attractive with improved off-road performance, updated styling and a more versatile interior.
Let’s start with the rugged Passport TrailSport pictured up top. This off-road-ready model gets a new suspension featuring revised spring rates, enhanced damper valve tuning and optimized stabilizer bars for increased articulation on challenging terrain—without sacrificing on-road comfort and handling, Honda insists. We’ll see about that.

New General Grabber T/T Sport all-terrain tires will improve traction in dirt, sand, mud, rocks and snow. They’re mounted on 18-inch machined alloy wheels with Pewter painted highlights, something no other Passport can boast. Incidentally, the front and rear tracks are 10 mm wider.
You’ve probably recognized the new available Diffused Sky Blue paint colour, which is shared with the Pilot TrailSport. Inside, orange contrast stitching can be found on the steering wheel, door panels and seats, with the TrailSport logo embroidered on the front seat head restraints.
New Passport Black Edition
Similar to the Pilot, the Honda Passport gets a darker-looking model for 2024. Positioned at the top of the lineup and offering even more premium content than the Touring model it replaces, the Passport Black Edition is available in Sonic Gray, Platinum White, Radiant Red or Crystal Black Pearl.
Highlights include black-painted 20-inch alloy wheels, blackout treatments for the grille, headlight trim, side trim, door handles, window trim and fog light accents, as well as Black Edition badges on the grille and tailgate.
The luxurious cabin features ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, all appointed in perforated leather. Contrast stitching shifts to red, and the same colour applies to the accent lighting for the dash, doors and centre console. A Black Edition logo is embossed on the front seats and floor mats.
One more thing: all Passport models receive a wider centre console with a large, newly integrated armrest and expanded storage. The centre-console storage bin can now fit a full-size tablet. Meanwhile, an improved storage tray ahead of the shifter accommodates two large smartphones, side by side.
The 2024 Honda Passport will arrive in dealerships this December. Pricing ranges from $50,480-$57,940 including freight and PDI, slightly up from the 2023 model.
