Nissan Appears Set to Introduce Adventure-Focused Rogue Rock Creek
The Nissan Rogue is a popular pick among compact SUV buyers with its spacious interior, generous safety content and high fuel economy, but there’s nothing to please drivers who care about performance or want to spend time off-road. That’s about to change.
The Japanese automaker is currently working on a more rugged, adventure-ready variant of the Rogue, as recent spy shots of camouflaged prototypes suggest (sorry, we can’t post them here, but a quick online search will satisfy your curiosity).

Inspired by the Pathfinder Rock Creek, this new Rogue will feature beefier tires, special wheels and increased ground clearance. The front and rear fascias will get a different treatment adding muscle and protection, while unique badges will adorn the front doors, just like on Nissan’s midsize SUV.
Moreover, we can see a tubular roof rack up top, enhancing versatility for overlanding enthusiasts. Inside, expect model-specific logos on the seats and centre armrest, along with orange contrast stitching.
There’s a chance Nissan engineers will boost output, too, whether the Rock Creek houses a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine or a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder mill. After all, they did it with the Pathfinder Rock Creek, pushing its 3.5-litre V6 from 284 hp/259 lb-ft. to 295 hp/270 lb-ft.
Nissan has not announced the 2024 Rogue yet, so we may get the new model soon instead of waiting for 2025. Pricing for the Rogue Rock Creek would likely start just above $40,000, with competition coming from the Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks/Badlands, GMC Terrain AT4, Jeep Compass Trailhawk, Mazda CX-50 Meridian, Subaru Forester Wilderness and Toyota RAV4 Trail.
