Podcast: The Car Guide Covers Rennsport Reunion 7, Detroit Auto Show and More
On this 18th episode of The Car Guide Podcast, LP describes his experience at Rennsport Reunion 7 in Monterey, California. What is Rennsport Reunion? It is the largest Porsche gathering on the planet, bringing people from the four corners of the world at Laguna Seca Raceway for four days of racing, exhibitions, conferences, entertainment and vehicle unveilings.
This was the 7th edition of this Porsche-focused event and The Car Guide was there to cover it. Porsche took the opportunity to showcase a few mythical models from its factory and museum collections, but also unveiled a new track-focused vehicle: the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport.
With a full carbon fibre body, a 611-horsepower 4.2-litre flat-six and everything one needs to hit the track, this new member of the Porsche family will be produced in only 77 units at a cost of just over one million U.S. dollars, or around 1.4 million Canadian dollars at current exchange rate.
