2025 Ram 1500 REV Officially Debuts With Up to 500 miles (800 km) of Range

The highly anticipated 2025 Ram 1500 REV today made its official debut at the New York International Auto Show. A key part of Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 electrification plan, this new electric pickup will go head-to-head with the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV when it hits the market next year.

“The all-electric Ram 1500 REV is a monumental milestone on our continued journey to offer the industry’s best electrified solutions and further fortifies our award-winning lineup,” said Ram brand CEO Mike Koval Jr.

The truck is built on the all-new STLA Frame designed specifically for full-size electric vehicles featuring a body-on-frame design. The chassis is wider in the middle to efficiently incorporate the battery pack while still utilizing protection afforded by the frame rails.

Ram says drivers will enjoy class-leading ride and handling courtesy of a multi-link independent rear suspension with active-level four-corner air suspension and adaptive damping as standard. There are five different modes to choose from: entry/exit, aero, normal, off-road 1 and off-road 2. Speaking of aero, designers have managed to achieve a drag coefficient of 0.34.

Up to 805 km of Range

All Ram 1500 REV models use dual 250kW electric drive modules that combine the motor, gearbox and inverter along with all-wheel drive capability. One EDM is mounted on the front axle with an automatic wheel-end disconnect that allows the front wheels to spin freely in certain conditions, maximizing efficiency. The other is positioned on the rear axle and is available with an electronic locking rear differential.

When it comes to performance, the automaker claims a combined 654 horsepower and 620 lb-ft. of torque, resulting in 0-60 mph sprints (0-97 km/h) in 4.4 seconds. Base models feature an LG-sourced 168kWh battery with a targeted range of 300 miles (483 km). With the optional 229kWh pack, you’re looking at up to 500 miles (805 km).

Both can add up to 110 miles of range (177 km) in approximately 10 minutes with 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kW. Two-way charging capability is included, as well. An on-board power panel in the 5.7-foot-long cargo bed can provide up to 7.2 kW, while the available on-board power panel in the 425-litre frunk provides up to 3.6 kW.

Other notable specs include up to 24 inches of water fording, up to 14,000 lbs towing and a maximum payload capacity of 2,700 lbs.

High-Tech Cabin

Inside, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV combines the advanced Uconnect 5 infotainment system with a new 14.5-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a segment-first 10.25-inch passenger screen. The latter offers three major functions: Co-Pilot (navigation, device management), entertainment (via HDMI) and the ability to view the exterior vehicle cameras.

A head-up display and digital rear-view mirror are available. Smartphone as a Key, in coordination with the Ram app, enables customers to use their smartphone as a key to access and start the vehicle without their phone leaving their pocket. Interestingly, the centre console has two wireless charging trays for smartphones.

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV is available in five trim levels including Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited and all-new Tungsten. The top-line model comes with an ultra-premium 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system including a 12-inch subwoofer.

Production will start in the first half of 2024 and deliveries will follow in the fall. Ram plans to announce pricing sometime in the coming months, so watch this space for more details.
