Leaked Pictures Show Next-Gen Dodge Charger Chassis

As the production of the current generation Dodge Charger is slowly coming to an end at its Brampton, Ontario assembly plant, information about the future of the model and its cousin, the Challenger, has yet to be solidified. While the Daytona SRT Concept gave us a glimpse of things to come and let us believe that the vehicle would be a two-door, 100% electric BEV “muscle car”, Stellantis has yet to confirm anything regarding the official powertrain details, other than the fact that there will be multiple configurations possible, all of which will offer different power outputs.

Today, pictures of what is likely the chassis of the next generation Dodge Charger have surfaced on X, as well as on some Mopar enthusiast forums and have been picked up by several media outlets. These spy shots have presumably been taken by a Stellantis employee at the Charger’s future assembly site and show a silhouette that is very similar to that of the Daytona SRT Concept.

But now, we can see what’s underneath. And to our surprise, the chassis has a transmission tunnel, which is quite unusual for a modern EV, which typically uses a skateboard platform. Will the new Charger (and Challenger) be offered with a gas-powered or hybrid variant with the new Hurricane engine as a base, mated to a choice of manual or automatic transmission? It’s all speculation for the time being. But that tunnel sure leaves room for imagination!
