New Hyundai Kona Dresses as Cool Urban Adventurer for SEMA Show
Hyundai is a regular at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and for this year’s edition, the Korean automaker unsurprisingly cooked up a special version of its fully redesigned Kona crossover. Meet the 2024 Kona Jayde Concept.
The first thing that catches the attention, of course, is the custom teal wrap applied to the body (Hyundai calls the colour robin’s egg blue), which is much more attractive than the hospital green customers can normally choose. It contrasts with dark body cladding on the fenders (similar to the first-gen Kona) and lower body, as well as aerodynamic add-ons including an Air Design front lip spoiler, side skirts and small rear spoiler.

We particularly like the design of the custom one-piece HRE 520M wheels rendered in a unique brushed-black finish. These 20-inch alloys are wrapped in aggressive 235/40ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S performance tires. Combined with a set of Eibach lowering springs that reduces ride height by two inches, this is a Kona with a very athletic stance and plenty of street cred.
The company’s goal with the Kona Jayde Concept is to showcase the versatility and customization potential of its small crossover together with MOBIS, a genuine parts and accessory supplier to Hyundai. That’s why there’s a Thule Pulse Alpine cargo box on the roof and a Thule Epos bike rack in the rear, the latter carrying a perfectly matched Vintage Electric Bikes e-bike.
Last but not least is a pair or Recaro Sportster CS seats in a unique plaid pattern and deviated stitching to match the colour scheme—a real Halloween treat and something that would make even a Volkswagen Golf GTI jealous.
Watch out for more concepts and special projects like these as we continue our coverage of the 2023 SEMA Show.
