Audi Q8 Freshens Up for 2024, to be Rebadged Later
Audi is slightly updating its Q8 midsize crossover for the 2024 model year, with the first units expected to arrive in dealerships this winter.
Both the standard Q8 and the sporty SQ8 feature new Matrix LED headlights and a revised Singleframe grille up front. The Q8 Technik and SQ8 are equipped with Audi’s laser light technology. The air intakes at each corner of the front bumper have a different shape and treatment, too.

The daytime running lights and OLED taillights now offer four available signatures for customization. The company has also three new optional 22- and 23-inch wheel designs. The Q8 and SQ8 come standard riding on 21s and 22s, respectively.
If you want a darker appearance, the available Black optic package features a black Singleframe mask, roof rails, mirror caps and window surrounds. Dark chrome exhaust tips and new 2D anthracite grey Audi rings complete the look.
Oh, we forgot to mention that the SQ8 gets a new front lip spoiler and rear diffuser, while three new body colours can be specified including Sakhir Gold, Ascari Blue and Chili Red).
Inside, Audi has come up with new decorative interior inlays and an expanded range of apps accessible via the infotainment system. For the first time, passengers can download popular apps from third-party providers such as Spotify or Amazon music through the new Audi app store.
Unsurprisingly, there are no changes under the hood. The Q8 continues with a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 producing 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft. of torque, which enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6 seconds. Meanwhile, the SQ8 boasts a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that delivers 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft. of torque, cutting the sprint to 4.5 seconds. Both can tow up to 7,770 lb.
The 2024 Audi Q8 starts at $95,450 in Progressiv trim or $103,780 in Technik trim. The latter is subject to the federal luxury tax, mind you. Ditto for the 2024 SQ8, which retails from $129,840. Want to go even higher? The almighty 2024 RS Q8 and its 591 horsepower can be yours for $153,898.
As reported earlier this year, Audi’s current nomenclature will soon be revised to create a distinction between its conventionally powered vehicles and fully electric ones. Passenger cars will continue to start with the letter “A” and crossovers will retain the letter “Q.” However, the digit that follows will now be used to identify whether the vehicle has a combustion engine (odd number) or electric powertrain (even number).
The process has already begun. The e-tron has been renamed Q8 e-tron, which means the regular Q8 will likely join the Q7 lineup at some point—unless Audi decides to add a “Q9” moniker.
