Jeep Wagoneer S Leaks Online, Revealing Giant Rear Wing

Published on January 23, 2024 in Electric by Guillaume Rivard

For some reason, two pictures of the upcoming Jeep Wagoneer S were posted on the brand’s Facebook page in the past few hours. That was an accident that the company soon fixed, but not before someone saved the pics and shared them via Mopar Insiders.

The Wagoneer S, in case you forgot, is a fully electric SUV that will enter production sometime in the spring or summer and go on sale initially in Quebec and British Columbia starting this fall, followed by other provinces and key markets around the world.

Just like the official teaser we saw last week, these new images confirm that the production model will be extremely similar to the concept that was announced back in September 2022.

Despite sharing its name with the gas-powered Wagoneer, the electric variant boasts completely different looks, starting with a fancy interpretation of the classic seven-slot grille with unique LED lighting. It also has a sleeker, sportier and more aerodynamic silhouette. Check out the rear end with that huge wing raising above the coupe-like window.

Interestingly, a Jeep badge appears on the liftgate whereas the conventional Wagoneer carries its own nameplate. A panoramic roof is part of the package, too, and we quite like the two-tone exterior shown on this particular unit. Will it come standard or not? We’ll see.

By the way, the Jeep Wagoneer S is sized like a Grand Cherokee and comes with only two rows of seats instead of three. It was developed on Stellantis’ new STLA Large architecture, which will also underpin the upcoming Dodge Charger EV. With regard to performance, expect 600 horsepower and 0-100 km/h sprints in about 3.5 seconds. Maximum range should be in excess of 600 km.

Naturally, since this is a Jeep we’re talking about, the Wagoneer S promises excellent off-road capability. However, if you’re looking for Wrangler-like skills, the equally new Jeep Recon (pictured below) is what you want. This one will also be revealed later in 2024 and it’s probably going to have a lower price tag, as well.
