Ford Maverick Appears to be Getting Sportier Variant
The Maverick compact pickup, which as you know is available with hybrid and EcoBoost powerplants, wasted little time adding a Tremor package to attract off-road driving enthusiasts. Now, it looks like Ford is readying a sporty, street-focused variant.
Based on spy shots that have surfaced online lately (we can’t show you them here due to copyrights), the automaker has something unique in store for Maverick fans.

The heavily camouflaged truck is revealing a new grille design with vertical slats as well as black 19-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT tires. The largest wheels currently offered on the Maverick are 18 inches in size.
This new variant will likely be part of the 2025 model year update. Automotive News is suggesting that it could be called Lobo, a name that Ford trademarked last year. We believe the engine will be the 2.0-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost, which delivers 250 horsepower but could get increased output for this application.
In 2023, Ford ramped up production of key models including the Maverick in order to better meet consumer demand. As a result, sales of the little pickup are up 82 percent in the U.S. so far this year. In Canada, they rose 5.4 percent in the first quarter.
A sportier Maverick will inevitably help boost sales even more.
