Porsche Macan EV Adds RWD and 4S Models for 2025

For 2025, Porsche is doubling the number of models available with the all-electric, second-generation Macan. In addition to the previously introduced Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, customers will be able to choose a base Macan with rear-wheel drive and a sportier Macan 4S equipped with the electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) all-wheel drive system, which distributes power between the front and rear axles approximately five times faster than a conventional AWD system.

Propulsion for the new Macan entry-level model is provided exclusively by the rear-axle motor that is used in the Macan 4, which generates 335 horsepower. In combination with Launch Control, the electric SUV produces up to 355 horsepower and the maximum torque is 415 lb-ft. From a standing start, it reaches the 100 km/h mark in 5.7 seconds. Incidentally, by forgoing all-wheel drive, this particular Macan is 110 kg lighter than the Macan 4.

Meanwhile, the Macan 4S has a new rear-axle motor and a powerful 600-amp SiC pulse inverter. Together with the front motor, this results in a system output of 442 horsepower with a short power overboost to up to 509 horsepower. With Launch Control, maximum torque is 605 lb-ft and 0-100 km/h sprints are achieved in 4.1 seconds.

You should also know that the Macan 4S is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping control as standard. The adaptive air suspension with levelling system and height adjustment, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and rear-axle steering allow the chassis to be further optimized for increased performance and comfort.

Regardless of model selection, energy comes from a high-voltage battery with a gross energy content of 100 kWh (net: 95 kWh). The 800V architecture of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) enables a DC charging capacity of up to 270 kW. In other words, the battery can be charged from 10-80 percent within around 21 minutes, Porsche claims. Official range estimates for North America have yet to be posted.

Also for the 2025 model year, a new body colour called Slate Grey Neo is available for all Macans. A 20-inch Macan S wheel design has been added to the wheel portfolio. Furthermore, a new off-road design package is optionally available, altering the geometry of the front bumper to increase the approach angle to 17.4 degrees, depending on the model (with the air suspension at a specifically raised level). In combination with the adaptive air suspension, the off-road design package also increases ground clearance by 10 mm to 195 mm at the normal setting. A two-tone exterior can be specified, too.

The 2025 Porsche Macan RWD and Macan 4S are both available to order now and will be delivered to customers in the fourth quarter of this year. Canadian MSRPs start at $94,900 and $106,900, respectively.
