The 2025 GMC Yukon Gets New Variant, Introduces Night Vision

GMC unveiled today the 2025 Yukon which receives new technologies, bolder aesthetics and an updated interior. The brand also introduces the new AT4 Ultimate trim which focuses on off-road capability.
The entire range features a redesigned grille as well as redesigned lighting elements. The top-of-the-line Denali Ultimate model stands out with its new 24-inch, eight-spoke wheels and superior luxury. The cabin features open pore wood appliques laser etched with topographical patterns, chrome accents and leather rim steering wheel accents. An available 22-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system also includes head restraint speakers in the front and 2nd row (captain's chairs only).
The AT4 Ultimate is differentiated by its 20-inch wheels fitted with all-terrain tires and its front skid plate. Additionally, the four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension can raise the vehicle up to 2 inches to improve ground clearance when off-roading. The interior stands out with its leather seats, wood trim and leather rim steering wheel accents.

Night Vision now Available
The Yukon gets rid of the old rectangular monitor embedded in the dashboard giving way to a vertical interface measuring 16.8 inches. Second row occupants can benefit from an optional 8-inch touch screen - set to manage air conditioning and heating. Of course, headrest TVs will be available.

Previously featured in the Cadillac Escalade, the 2025 Yukon introduces Night Vision by projecting a thermal image. It helps identify pedestrians and animals in low-lit environments by alerting drivers via the head-up display and driver information center.
The Yukon includes a host of safety technololgies, such as emergency braking systems in the presence of pedestrians and cyclists in several scenarios. Otherwise, Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology — which provides hands-free driving when conditions permit — is available. It will cover approximately 750,000 miles (more than 1.2 million kilometres) of roads in the United States and Canada by the end of 2025.

Two V8s and a Turbocharged Diesel Engine
The Yukon comes standard with a 5.3-litre V8 producing 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Otherwise, the 6.2-litre V8 engine is available as an option. It develops 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. For the very first time, the AT4 and AT4 Ultimate versions can benefit from the 3-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel with 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. All variants use a ten-speed transmission, while the rear axle has a 3.23 gear ratio. Regular models can tow up to 8,400 lbs, and 8,200 lbs for the extended wheelbase versions (Yukon XL).

A suite of available trailering technologies will help in different scenarios. For example, Jackknife Alert tracks the poition of the trailer and notifies the driver if facing a potential jackknife situation. Trailer Reverse Trajectory adds rearward guidelines and the Transparent Trailer View helps to see through a trailer to view objects or vehicles behind it.
The 2025 GMC Yukon will be manufactured at the Arlington, Texas, assembly plant. The SUV is expected to go on sale toward the end of the year. More details on the vehicle and pricing range will be revealed closer to the production date.
