High-performance Civic Type R -- Last but not least, the hot Civic Type R will finally make its way to Canada. Like the Civic Hatchback, the Type R will likely be derived from the European-market Civic – the plant in Alliston, Ontario will build only coupes and sedans – but it will be the most powerful Civic ever sold here. No details have yet been announced about the North-American version, but over in Europe, the Type R is powered by a turbo 2.0L engine that belts out 306 US horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.
