Polestar 1 - World premiere in Shanghai. Polestar did not disclose the car’s overall weight, but it stated that a substantial reduction of 230 kilograms is achieved by using carbon fibre as a material for the body and that Polestar 1’s weight distribution is 48% on the front axle and 52% on the rear. Using carbon fibre for the body also gives Polestar 1 a lower centre of gravity as well as an increase in torsional rigidity of 45% over more conventional materials.
