As reported last week, light-duty vehicle sales in Canada dropped 3.6 percent to 1,923,729 units in 2019, according to the Automotive News Data Center.
The auto industry can thank SUVs and pickups, because sales of passenger cars fell 16.1 percent. Incredibly, the Honda Civic, which has topped Canadian sales charts for more than 20 years, experienced a setback of 12.8 percent and was outsold by the hottest SUV in town right now, the Toyota RAV4.
