Unveiled in June 2021, the fastest series production Bugatti hypercar is sold out despite costing 3.2 million euros ($4.4 million CAD) and the first units are now rolling out of the Molsheim Atelier in France.
One of them has received a special treatment from Bugatti’s Sur Mesure customization program. The bespoke ‘Vagues de Lumière’ paintwork features an intricate hand-painted pattern that mimics the way lights reflect off the car’s curved panels.
As if the numerous stripes weren’t enough to add contrast, the same bright orange colour is applied to the wheels, the number 38 on the front mesh insert as well as the entire cabin. Also, above each seat is a glass panel that floods the interior with sunlight. How refreshing!
Before you check out this one-of-a-kind Chiron Super Sport in the photo gallery above, remember that it boasts a thoroughly overhauled version of Bugatti’s famous 8.0-litre W16 engine with larger quad turbochargers. The 1,577 horsepower send it to a top speed of 440 km/h. Revised steering and stiffer springs combine with a retuned, electronically controlled chassis.
“It’s extremely exciting to be witnessing the first customer units of the Chiron Super Sport come together within our Atelier. Hearing brand new 8.0-litre W16 engines fire up for the first time, knowing that they are soon to become a centerpiece of our customers’ collections across the globe, is a personal highlight,” said Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles. “The experience of driving a Chiron Super Sport cannot be compared to anything else the automotive industry has to offer, and we very much look forward to our customers covering many unforgettable miles behind the wheel.”
