We’re still trying to wrap our brains around the new 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 housing a twin-turbocharged, 5.5-litre DOHC flat-plane crank V8 that delivers 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. It’s a massive boost from the previous-generation ZR1 (755 horsepower), let alone the current Corvette Z06 (670 horsepower) and gas-electric Corvette E-Ray (655 horsepower).
Chevy engineers have developed quite simply the most potent V8 ever produced in North America from an auto manufacturer. And remember, there’s a fully electric Corvette on the way, too, possibly called “Zora.” What will that one be like? The bar has just been raised extremely high.
Putting this madness into perspective, the picture gallery above will show you 11 modern supercars, muscle cars and other exotic, high-price cars packing less power than the 2025 Corvette ZR1.
