Introduced to the North American market in 2011 as the 2012 model, the BMW X1 is an extremely popular compact SUV that uses the same mechanical components as the 3 Series. Exclusively available with all-wheel drive, the xDrive 28i’s engine is a 2.0L 241-hp four-cylinder turbo, while the xDrive 35i houses a 300-hp six-cylinder. Very versatile, its cargo space ranges from 420 to 1,350 litres once the rear bench is lowered.
