Aside from iconic models, sports coupes are having a tough time right now. The Lexus RC is one example. The current generation dates back to 2015 and you have to wonder how long it will survive. Customers have a choice of two engines starting with a 3.5-litre V6 (260 or 311 horsepower with AWD). Optionally, a good old 5.0-litre V8 is available (472 horsepower with RWD). Build quality and reliability are some of the RC’s strengths.
Pros
- High-performance V8 engine (RC F)
- Comfortable and well-assembled interior
Cons
- Lackluster performance (RC 300)
- Unsporty transmission for the segment
- RC F model too expensive for what it offers
