Reviving a nameplate that goes back to 1955 in Japan, the Crown was introduced last year in Canada as an indirect replacement for the departed Avalon. It’s a high-riding, mid-to-large sedan that aims to attract customers who would otherwise consider an SUV. There’s nothing like it on the road today. All Crown models feature a hybrid powertrain including the Limited (2.5-litre engine, 236 horsepower, CVT) and Platinum (turbocharged 2.4-litre engine, 340 horsepower, 6-speed automatic transmission).
Pros
- Refined hybrid powertrains
- Fast and efficient multimedia interface
- Spacious and comfortable
- Safe driving
Cons
- Noisy engine when accelerating (Limited)
- Slightly dull interior
- Sloppy trunk finish
- Low availability
