An extremely rare sight on Canadian roads, the Toyota Mirai was completely redesigned and improved for 2021. This is no ordinary electric vehicle. Instead of a high-voltage battery, the Mirai uses fuel cell technology and runs on hydrogen. It generates 182 horsepower and, unlike the previous generation which had front-wheel drive, power is now sent to the rear wheels. Maximum range has increased by about 30 percent to an estimated 647 kilometres.
Pros
- Elegant design
- Improved handling
- Increased range
- Zero emission vehicle
Cons
- Almost non-existent hydrogen stations
