BMW X4 Concept Revealed in Shanghai
The pretty BMW X6 will get a little brother that will wear the X4 name. This vehicle will be unveiled as a concept at the Shangai Auto Show, next month.
This is a compact SAC (Sport Activity Coupe) that will inherit the superb lines of the X6, that of a jacked-up five-door coupe.
The BMW X4 borrows the chassis of the X3 and will be assembled next to it in BMW’s American plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The X4 will host under its hood the X3’s powerplants, which for North-America include:
- a turbocharged 2.0 litre 4 cylinder, making 240 horses in the xDrive 28i;
- a turbocharged 3.0 litre straight-six good for 300 horses in the xDrive 35i.
In both cases we should find an 8-speed automatic transmission bolted to these engines.
The BMW X4 will feature all wheel drive. It will go on sale at the beginning of 2014.
