2015 MINI Cooper Cabriolet is Still a Year Out

The British brand, owned by BMW, unveiled last week in Los Angeles the brand new version of the Mini Cooper. It’s a car whose lines get a few alterations while respecting the specifications of its predecessor. Dimensions were slightly increased all-around leading to slightly more interior space.

The Mini Convertible

If MINI’s history is any indication, the next variation that will be revealed should be a cabriolet. We can expect a concept model to be unveiled either in March 2014 at Geneva Motor Show or perhaps in April at the New York Auto Show.

2014 Mini Engines

There is every reason to believe that future MINI Cooper convertible will benefit from the same engines found under the hood of the coupe:
- 1.5-litre three-cylinder with 136 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque;
- 2.0-litre four-cylinder 192 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque;
- 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel with 116 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque.

All are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic.
