The sexiest prototype Cadillac has ever made, the Elmiraj, may still become a production model, according to GM.

The car has been shown around the auto show circuit since its debut, and Cadillac has gauged the public's reaction to evaluate if a big luxury coupe would be financially viable. So far, reactions have been positive, which means that the model could eventually be produced.

The Cadillac Elmiraj is based on the Omega platform, created especially for a large luxury flagship sedan still in the works. It will be, according to the manufacturer, the most luxurious vehicle ever produced by Cadillac.

The Elmiraj is equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine producing about 500 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque. The interior is a masterpiece, combining leather and aluminium perfectly.

If GM decides to greenlight it, the large luxury coupe could steal some sales from the biggest players in this segment, like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, the Rolls-Royce Wraith and the Bentley Continental.

Come on GM, Cadillac needs a big flagship coupe to rival the best of the market and come back to its former glory!
