Nissan Joins Vision Gran Turismo

After Mitsubishi, Mercedes-AMG, BMW and Volkswagen, it’s now Nissan’s turn to join Sony in its celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo franchise. For this occasion, each manufacturer was tasked with creating a car that represents the future of their company. We are now thrilled to discover the NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo.

The car was created by a team of young designers at Nissan Design Europe, in London. Their final version was then sent to advanced engineers in Atsugi, Japan who made sure the car was as realistic as possible by running it in a virtual wind tunnel.

This is not the first time that Nissan has teamed up with Sony to introduce a new vehicle. The production version of the GT-R supercar was unveiled at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show, while being simultaneously made available for download in the popular video game.

Even more interesting is the fact that the NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo may not be a simple styling exercise. Some lines in the press release seem to suggest that the next GT-R may be inspired by this virtual concept.
