One Last Hurrah For The Shelby Super Snake

With the coming of the next-gen Ford Mustang (and its high-performance variant, the Shelby GT350), it’s time to say goodbye to the current crop of pony cars. This also means that Shelby American will roll out the last of their very venomous Super Snakes.

For this occasion, they will roll out 50 special edition vehicles. They will sport a few unique upgrades: forged wheels, commemorative badges, bigger brakes, dashboard plaque with Carroll’s own signature… Under the hood, these cars will have a better radiator and heat exchangers, and bigger aluminium coolant bottles.

Why so many cooling upgrades? Because it’s a Super Snake, and as such, it packs 850 horsepower… If you want, the engine can even be dialed up to 1,000 horsepower, but then it runs on race fuel and is no longer street-legal.

The cost for this Super Snake upgrade is $54,000 US (not including the price of the standard GT500), and production will be limited to 50 units, which means that these cars will only appreciate in value.
