Another "Racing" Range Rover

In addition to the new ultra-luxurious Range Rover that will take its place above the Autobiography, Land Rover just announced that they will launch a new sporty SUV, the 2016 Range Rover HST.

At the top of the sporty Range Rover lineup sits the SVR, a 550-horsepower monster capable of lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 8 minutes 14 seconds. The new HST will slot in underneath it, with its supercharged V6 pumping out 380 horsepower, which is 40 more than the Range Rover Sport equipped with the same engine.

You can easily differentiate the HST from a run-off-the-mill Range Rover: it features 21-inch wheels, big brakes with red calipers, blacked-out grille and body accents…

Finally, the HST’s all-wheel drive system has been upgraded for high-speed driving; a new program optimizes suspension settings and engine management for maximum performance.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but deliveries will start next month. We will see the vehicle for the first time at the New York Auto Show.
