2015 Frankfurt Motor Show - The Side Profile Of The Jaguar F-Pace

Published on September 4, 2015 in Frankfurt by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

Jaguar’s first SUV has really taken its time to arrive. Last January we finally got to see the first teaser image of it, but there wasn’t much to look at, except a nice taillight and a name: F-Pace.

Almost eight months after that announcement, Jaguar is finally ready to lift the veil on its SUV, which is billed as a sporty family vehicle (kind of like the XFR-S Sportbrake?).

At the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens on September 15th, we will finally be able to see the F-Pace in its entirety; for now, Jaguar has sent us another single teaser shot, which shows the vehicle’s profile.

While it rides high and has a bigger roofline than other Jaguars, it’s clearly one of the breed. The headlights remind us of the C-X17 concept (which was the initial concept for the F-Pace) and the XJ, while the rear lights are a clear reminder of the F-Type.

We don’t know exactly what will sit under the F-Pace’s hood, but since we know that it will come with the new Ingenium engines, there will probably be a large array of powerplants to choose from: a turbocharged four-cylinder, supercharged V6s and a possible V8 in a future SVR version. A diesel is also in the works.

If we are to believe some of the rumours, there might even be an all-electric version further down the pipeline…

We will have to wait until the start of the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15th to see the F-Pace.
