First Drive: 2017 Audi A3
Audi chose Munich as the global launch point for the refreshed A3 compact.
It features a new front grille, smaller headlights and a new rear bumper and diffuser.

It also gets Audi's virtual cockpit and is the first model to get the automaker's new emergency assist that will bring the car to a stop in its own lane if the driver doesn't react to impending danger.
Canada will get two versions of the 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder—a front-wheel drive model with 186 horsepower and a seven-speed automatic, and a quattro all-wheel drive model that makes 220 horsepower and a six-speed tiptronic.
The 292-horsepower S3 will get the six-speed s-tronic.
Like the 2016 model year, the A3 Sportback will be available in e-tron guise.
All versions will begin to arrive at dealers in September as 2017 models.
On our cold, wet day spent with the new A3 and S3, they seem to be more of a good thing.
The design has evolved a bit and it is still a sharp-looking car.
The S3 impressed with its quiet interior and quality materials.
The new virtual cockpit is a nice addition.
These cars drive light and nimble with very direct steering.
