2019 Kia Stinger: 2.0L Engine, More Affordable
When the Kia Stinger was unveiled in 2017, the Korean brand announced the availability of two engines and two drivetrains, but when it hit the Canadian market, the car was offered with only one of each.
As a matter of fact, for the 2018 model year, the Stinger was only available with the 365-horsepower, twin-turbo, 3.3-litre V6 and AWD. However, the brand just announced that starting late this summer, the 2019 Kia Stinger will also be offered on our market with the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The latter develops 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and it too is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drivetrain. For now, a RWD Stinger isn’t in the plans for Canada.

Named the Stinger 2.0L GT-Line—not to be confused with the GT and its V6 engine—this version of the five-door sports sedan will be equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, two exhaust outlets instead of four, a 10-way power driver’s seat, leather upholstery, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, among other things. We’ll also get an infotainment system with UVO intelligence and a seven-inch touchscreen.
Pricing for the 2019 Kia Stinger 2.0L GT-Line hasn’t been announced yet, but we’re expecting an MSRP of just over $40K before freight and delivery charges. Right now, the V6-engined 2018 Stinger GT starts at $44,195.
