2021 Hyundai Santa Fe to Get Major Updates
Hyundai has just released a teaser and a bit of information that suggests the 2021 Santa Fe is getting some major updates.
The popular midsize SUV was completely redesigned for 2019 and its cousin, the Kia Sorento, is receiving a similar treatment for 2021.

The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe will adopt a significantly refreshed and much more aggressive front fascia with a new, larger grille featuring geometric shapes—just like the one on the recently unveiled 2021 Elantra and the upcoming 2021 Tucson. The grille’s frame blends in with the restyled headlights, while the LED daytime running lights sport a cool T-shaped look.
At first glance, this seems to make the Santa Fe more appealing than the current version and sportier than the next-gen Sorento.
Hyundai did not provide any additional details, but said these cosmetic updates support the technological enhancements also in store for the 2021 Santa Fe.
Similar to the brand new Sorento, expect the powertrain lineup to include a new hybrid option consisting of a turbocharged 1.6-litre gasoline engine and a 44.2-kW electric motor. Power will be rated at 227 hp and 258 lb-ft. of torque.
A new turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder producing 290 hp is also rumoured as a replacement for the current 2.0-litre turbo.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe will go on sale in Europe this September. Canadian availability remains to be specified, but we should find out soon enough.
