You Can Now Follow Your New Porsche on the Assembly Line

Porsche customers are undoubtedly some of the most passionate sports car enthusiasts out there. In order to provide a more personalized buying and ownership experience, the automaker launched the “My Porsche” web portal a few years ago. Now, it gets even better with the addition of a new feature called “Behind the Scenes.”

While waiting to take delivery of their new car, customers can follow how it evolves through various steps of the manufacturing process at the Zuffenhausen plant in Germany.

Initially reserved for the 911 models, Porsche has already installed cameras at two relevant stations and linked them to the production software. Two more cameras will be added soon.

“Our customers have always been able to custom-build the vehicle of their dreams, thereby creating a personal connection. With ‘Behind the Scenes,’ we are enhancing this experience by offering the ability to keep track of their prized sports car,” says Marc Ouayoun, President and CEO of Porsche Cars Canada.

The feature will first be available to customers in six countries and Canada happens to be one of them along with the U.S., Germany, the U.K., Switzerland and Spain. Other markets will follow in the coming months.

The “My Porsche” web portal can also be accessed via a mobile app.
