2021 Toyota Venza Could be a Steal Even at $38,940

The all-new 2021 Toyota Venza, which rose from the ashes of the late midsize wagon earlier this year, is now on sale at Toyota dealers across Canada.

Now that we know how much it costs, we think it could be a steal. Here’s why...

Starting at $38,490 plus freight and delivery, the base Venza LE comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, a power liftgate, an eight-inch touchscreen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel on power-adjustable steering column, wireless charging for personal electronics, heated front seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Connect Services by Toyota on this model include Remote Connect, Service Connect and Safety Connect.

Also standard is the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of active safety systems, which includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Bicycle Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist and Automatic High Beams.

Next up, the Venza XLE retails from $44,490. At that price level, content is enhanced with 19-inch alloy wheels, a 1,200-watt JBL audio system with 12.3-inch touchscreen and navigation, a seven-inch multi-information display, a hands-free power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, a driver’s seat memory system and Softex leather seat cladding.

Finally, the top-line Venza Limited costs $47,690. It stands out with even more luxury touches such as a Star Gaze fixed panoramic glass roof with frost control, a head-up display, a digital rear-view mirror, illuminated front scuff plates, rain-sensing wipers and the Bird’s Eye View safety system with rear camera washer.

Exclusively Hybrid and Super-efficient

Blessed with standard all-wheel drive, the 2021 Toyota Venza’s sole powertrain option is a hybrid system that combines a 2.5-litre gasoline engine with three electric motors, generating a total of 219 horsepower and achieving an estimated 6.1 L/100 km in combined city-highway driving. It’s not a plug-in hybrid like the RAV4 Prime, mind you, so zero-emission range is limited to extremely short distances.

The five-passenger Venza also boasts an impressive 1,027 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats. A first-drive review is coming up in the next few weeks, so don’t miss it!
