The Car Guide's Best Buys for 2021: Audi A6 and A7
Every year, The Car Guide unveils a list of Best Buys covering all the different vehicle categories in the industry.
It’s no surprise that Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz occupy the top three spots in the midsize luxury car segment. And there’s no better pick this year than the Audi A6/A7.

The Audi A6 is a classic luxury sedan that delivers strong performance, confident handling and an exceptionally refined interior. For drivers who want to stand out more, the new A6 Allroad and RS 6 Avant models are incredible additions to the lineup.
The Allroad is sort of a premium version of the Subaru Outback, an adventure-ready wagon that you’ll want to explore new terrain with. Meanwhile, the extremely sporty RS 6 Avant packs 591 horsepower thanks to a twin-turbocharged V8.
The Audi A7 boasts the same attributes as the A6, except in a four-door coupe body style with a rear liftgate.
The Other Finalists
The BMW 5 Series lands in second place this year. This fun-to-drive yet comfortable sedan is available with four-, six- and eight-cylinder engines including an efficient hybrid model and the insanely potent M5 Competition rated at 617 horsepower.
We put the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in third place because it’s a little less convincing than its domestic rivals. Still, it offers a great AWD system and a handsome interior in a selection of sedan, coupe, cabriolet and wagon body styles, all of which can be specified with the sporty AMG treatment.
