Hear the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Before Its Debut This Fall
Chevrolet is finally announcing the arrival of the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 based on the eighth-generation coupe. The world premiere will take place on October 26 and the car will go on sale next year as a 2023 model.
The company found a different way to tease enthusiasts and the media today. Instead of showing a few bits and pieces, we get to listen to the sound of the engine and exhaust system.

As you will see—or hear—in the following video, the future Corvette Z06 sounds pretty different from its predecessor and more like exotic supercars born in Italy:
It does sound like this Corvette will feature a flat-plane crankshaft similar to recent Ferrari V8 engines and of course the late Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, allowing higher engine revs and unique sound effects.
Rumour has it that a modified version of the 5.5-litre DOHC V8 used in the Corvette C8.R will land in the new Z06, packing a lot more firepower than the previous model whose 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine delivered 650 horsepower (and 650 pound-feet of torque).
The good news is we won’t have to wait much longer to get all the details.
