2022 Infiniti QX80’s New Touchscreen Reflects Its Lofty Status
The Infiniti QX80 is a pretty rare sight on the road, but the update it’s getting for the 2022 model year deserves a bit of spotlight. This full-size luxury SUV, by the way, continues to share many features and components with the Nissan Armada.
Because everyone loves big displays, the QX80 is adding a new infotainment system with a 12.3-inch centre touchscreen (formerly 8 inches). Wireless Apple CarPlay integration is included, but if you want to use Android Auto you’ll still have to plug your phone in a USB port. Navigation is part of the mix, too.

The system boasts sharper menus and graphics, while responses to driver inputs are much quicker.
Infiniti has also eliminated the second display (7 inches) in the lower part of the centre stack and revised the controls and buttons for a cleaner look. The extra space has allowed designers to incorporate a wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones as well as a 12V power outlet.
Beyond that, the 2022 Infiniti QX80 is essentially unchanged. The 5.6-litre V8 engine returns with 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The outgoing model had a base MSRP of $79,998 in Canada, so expect to pay more than 80 grand this time around.
