There’s plenty of selection when it comes to midsize luxury SUVs, and most competitors offer multiple models including some that are aimed at performance enthusiasts.

The Winner
Completely redesigned for 2022, the Acura MDX gets our Best Buy award this year. This Japanese SUV is loaded with features at a pretty reasonable price. It also impresses with remarkable ride and handling, plus a modern interior that is only marred by an excessively complicated infotainment system.
Sporty drivers will like the new Type S model equipped with a 355-horsepower V6. Sure, the German rivals offer more potent engines, but once again the price difference is massive.
Other Finalists
In second place, we picked the Audi Q7 and Q8. Riding on the same platform, these two siblings stand out with tremendous build quality, superb digital displays and exciting S models. Too bad they’re so expensive.
As for third place in the segment, the Porsche Cayenne got the nod due to its exceptional driving dynamics and wide array of powertrain options. Base models lack a number of features, however, so buyers need to spend a lot of extra money to get a properly equipped Cayenne.
