Track-Only 2023 Ford GT Mk IV is the Most Extreme Yet
The six-year production run of the third generation of Ford’s flagship sports has come to an end. The GT is an exclusive product and a wonderful tribute to the famous GT40 of the 1960s, especially with all those limited editions.
However, Ford has one final ace up its sleeves—the brand new 2023 GT Mk IV, the ultimate and most extreme track-only Ford GT ever.

Once again, the car was developed by Ford Performance in collaboration with Ontario’s Multimatic using the expertise gained in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with the Ford GT race car.
The 2023 Ford GT Mk IV boasts a longer wheelbase for more stability and a completely new carbon fibre body that’s been stretched and fitted with more radical aero components. The fenders, hood and front bumpers are all redesigned, while the radiator intakes on the sides are even more massive.
The twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 boasts larger displacement, though the company did not specify how big it is or exactly how much power it generates. Output is said to exceed 800 horsepower, whereas the previous Ford GT MK II packed 700 horsepower. The engine is mated to a proper racing transmission.
Ford has also upgraded the suspension, but we don’t know the nature of the upgrades for now.
“We are proud to have been a part of the third-generation GT from its inception to this amazing swan song and consider it a significant chapter in Multimatic’s history,” said Larry Holt, executive vice president, Multimatic Special Vehicle Operations Group.
The new Ford GT Mk IV nods to the year that the original Mk IV won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with just 67 of the hand-built supercars to be produced at Multimatic’s facility in Markham. Potential customers can apply through a dedicated GT Mk IV website, and Ford will confirm selections in the first quarter of 2023. Deliveries are slated to begin in late spring.
Oh, by the way, the base MSRP is set at $1.7 million USD, or about $2.3 million CAD at the current exchange rate.
