Ram 1500 REV Pushed Back to 2026, Ramcharger to Launch First

If you were eagerly waiting to order your fully electric Ram 1500 REV, we’re sorry to report that the launch has been pushed back a year. Stellantis has just confirmed that orders will open in 2026 rather than the first half of 2025.

You can probably guess why.

Citing slowing industry demand for half-ton electric pickups combined with “overwhelming consumer interest” in the upcoming, range-extending Ramcharger, the automaker has decided to pull launch timing of the latter ahead of the Ram 1500 REV. It said the Ramcharger will be open for consumer orders in the first half of 2025, without being more specific.

The Sterling Heights (Michigan) Assembly Plant will continue to be the primary home for Ram 1500 production, including electrified and ICE-powered versions.

The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger features a 92kWh high-voltage battery that can be charged on the go by a 3.6-litre V6 acting as a generator, giving the truck over 1,100 km of total range. With a 250kW front motor and 238kW rear motor, combined output and torque are said to be 663 hp and over 615 lb-ft, respectively, which results in acceleration from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 4.4 seconds.

As for capability, the Ramcharger boasts a maximum payload of 2,625 lbs and can tow up to 14,000 lbs—both unmatched in the segment. What’s more, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-home bi-directional charging affords the flexibility to charge another EV or provide power back to the grid.

Pricing will be announced at a later date.

In mid-October, Stellantis slashed $4,000 off the gas-powered 2025 Ram 1500 (except the high-performance RHO) following a 29-percent drop in sales in the first nine months of 2024 compared with the same period in 2023. The lineup now starts at an all-in price of $58,740 for a base Tradesman model and $62,240 for a Big Horn model, both equipped with a Quad Cab. The former can also be ordered with a Crew Cab from $60,240.
