The K5 midsize sedan replaced the Optima last year and immediately pleased drivers with a much more modern look and interior layout. There’s even a GT package specially designed for performance enthusiasts—it serves up 290 horsepower from a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine. Other K5 models settle for a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine delivering just 180 horsepower, but those come with all-wheel drive. Standard equipment is generous in typical Kia fashion.
Pros
- All-wheel drive as standard (except GT)
- Good habitability
- Complete equipment
Cons
- Power a bit tight (LX, EX and GT Line)
- No all-wheel drive for GT version
- Light steering
