The GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo is Unveiled
A few days before the Wörthersee Tour, which starts on May 28, Volkswagen unveiled the GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo. As the name implies, this car was developed to star in Sony’s racing simulator, Gran Turismo.
After Mercedes launched the AMG Vision Gran Turismo and BMW its Vision GT, it is now Volkswagen’s turn to unveil its offering to the Vision Gran Turismo program, which gave designers an opportunity to create a vehicle that represented the future of their brand.
The GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo borrows styling cues from the VW GTI hot hatch, but it is in fact an all-new vehicle. It boasts an aggressive style, with low lines and a small windscreen.
To power the beast, a 3L VR6 engine is used. With the addition of two turbos, it now produces 503 HP and 491 lb-ft. of torque. The 4MOTION all-wheel drive system ensures maximum grip, while a DSG seven-speed gearbox is fitted to enable lightning-quick shifts.
The car stays firmly planted on the ground with the help of 235/35-20 tires up front, and 275/30-20 at the back. Braking is provided by 381 mm discs at each front wheel, and 356 mm discs at the rear.
If you want to test-drive the GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo, just download it from the PlayStation Store! For more informations on the roadster, you will have to wait for the Wörthersee Tour, on May 28.
