Shelby GT350R: More Venom For Ford’s Snake

Published on January 12, 2015 in Detroit by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

Somewhere, a group of die-hard Ford enthusiasts were avidly following the launch of the Shelby GT350. When the performance specs were announced and the crowd went wild, these few fans shook their head in disbelief; the car was not up to their expectations. Ford listened to them, and created the GT350R, the ultimate track-day Shelby.

By removing the A/C, the radio, the rear seats, the trunk’s padding and carpet, the backup camera and the spare tire, Ford’s engineers managed to trim 60 kg from the ‘’regular’’ GT350. The GT350R also features a harsher suspension that will keep all four wheels on the ground at all times, and a complete aerodynamic package to keep the Mustang planted through those fast corners.

Ford will launch the GT350R (and the GT350) onto Canada’s unsuspecting public this summer.
