Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 - Bugatti Joins Vision Gran Turismo

It has been a few months since we've heard about the Vision Gran Turismo program, which gives automakers the opportunity to build virtual vehicles representing the future of their brands, and players the ability to drive them in the Gran Turismo 6 video game.

More than a few manufacturers have tried their hands at it.  We have seen relatively sane creations from Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti, but some of the cars are completely crazy; for example, SRT designed a vehicle that uses pneumatic power to reach more than 600 km/h.

Another automaker is now about to join the fray: the image you see above represents an intake inlet from what will become the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo.

The French manufacturer has announced that they will launch their prototype at the Frankfurt Auto Show, and also confirmed a few important pieces of information.

First of all, it seems that this concept won't just be vaporware; according to Bugatti's Head of Design Achim Anscheidt, the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo will give us a first glimpse into the brand's new styling language, and could be a precursor to the Chiron (which will replace the Veyron in a few years).

Drivetrain-wise, this Bugatti will probably be really, really fast. When asked about what would be sitting under the hood of the concept, Anscheidt said that it will be ''exaggerated and extremely performance-oriented''. Coming from a company that doesn't make cars under 1,000 horsepower, this can be nothing but good news.

We will see the finished product at the Frankfurt Motor Show. After that, the car will be available for those who own both a Playstation 3 and Gran Turismo 6.
